Merengues are good. Merengue cranberry tarts from Dorie Greenspan might just be very good.

I made many an easypants galette this summer with peaches and figs and such. But this savory galette with onions, squash, and cheese is perfect for winter.

I would never make medlar jelly. I’m not sure I would even like it. But it’s exciting to find mention of a new fruit, in France no less.

I would very much consider buying this iPad stand for the kitchen.

My friends Tara and Andy went to Iceland and write amusingly of all they ate there. Preview: rotten shark and yogurt.

Khao soi is a delicious specialty of Chiang Mai, Thailand. And it lives up to the hype. I’m sure this recipe isn’t authentic, but it looks good all the same!

Chocolate chip cookie dough dip sounds disgusting enough, but the secret ingredient in it makes me want to swear off the idea of “healthy dessert.”
